Review and Approval of EPC Contractor’s Basic and Detailed Design

Review all the design documentation produced by the EPC Contractor and provides qualified comments in accordance with due professional care, to make sure that the design as a whole corresponds to the standards agreed upon in the EPC Contract. This revision shall be executed in two stages:

Contractor’s Preliminary Design Review

Including information such as the following:

    • Description of technical solution
    • Site layout
    • General arrangements and sections of plant and buildings
    • Interface and terminal point details
    • Process flows and mass balances for various loads
    • Plant operating modes
    • Plant performance characteristics and calculations
    • Heat balance diagrams
    • Principal pipe-work drawings including cooling water supply
    • Interconnection of the plant with existing infrastructure
    • Process chemical dosing and cleaning procedures
    • Principal calculations
    • Principal plant performance data and guaranteed figures
    • Building services design approach documentation
    • Single line diagrams of HV, MV, LV and DC switchgear, control panels and transformer general lay-outs, proposal of consumers list
    • Instrument sequence drawings and lists
    • Plant protection and safety concept
    • Philosophy of the plant control, proposal of the DCS parameters, Control system principal function, field instrumentation principles, P&I Diagrams, etc.
    • Buildings, foundations, cable trenches and other civil works
    • Detailed P&I diagrams
    • Approval of Plant identification system (KKS codes)
    • Technical documents and calculations

 

Contractors’ Detailed Design Review

Including information as the described for the Preliminary Design stage, plus:

    • Design of all civil structures
    • Design of mechanical work
    • Design of complete instrumentation and control system (DCS) (control algorithms, protections, control displays, wiring diagrams, cabling etc.)
    • Design of electric systems (grid connection, HV, MV and LV switchgear, wiring diagrams, cabling, electric protection systems, cabinet arrangements etc.)
    • Lists of all equipment
    • Participation of plant automation FAT
    • Design of Flue gas cleaning and emission control
    • Design of Boiler combustion process
    • Water chemistry and related systems
